Plano SAR Chapter January Meeting
The Plano Chapter, Texas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution held their January meeting on January 3, 2023. During that meeting the 2023 chapter officers were sworn in by state society president Jim Kuykendall.
Super Bowl Sunday
On Super Bowl Sunday Christine, James, Rachel, Christopher, and Mattie joined us to watch the Chiefs and Eagles play in the Super Bowl.
Fire House 5 Grand Opening
On May 13, 2023 The Colony Fire Department opened Fire House 5. Mandy, Mattie, and I attended. In addition to the hose disconnecting (in lieu of a ribbon cutting), they allowed the kids to finish washing their new Engine 15. Finally the kids were allowed to push in Engine 15.
Leavenworth National Cemetery
On July 1st, 2023 Mandy, Christine, Chris, Mattie, and I visited Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Golden Anniversary Party
On July 2, 2023 Mandy and I celebrated our 50th anniversary at a party held at Happy Rock Park in Gladstone, MO. Thanks to Crissy and James who planned the party and Amy, Alan, Maribeth, and Audrey who helped put it together.
2023 Vacation Day 1
In September of 2023 we took the American Parks Trail tour with Rocky Mountaineer Option. On the first day we flew to Salt Lake City where we did some exploring before meeting the tour group.
2023 Vacation Day 3
On Day 3 we travelled from Jackson, Wyoming to Yellowstone National Park. We had stops at Jenny Lake and Grand Teton National Park where I took a 10 mile float trip on the Snake River.
2023 Vacation Day 5
Most of Day 5 was spent traveling from Yellowstone National Park to The Ranch at U-Cross.
2023 Vacation Day 7
On Day 7 we travelled from Spearfish Canyon to Custer State Park. Along the way we stopped at Deadwood, S.D. and Mount Rushmore. That evening we went on a "Buffalo Safari" and Chuckwagon cookout.
2023 Vacation Day 9-10
We spent most of day 9 traveling from Custer State Park in South Dakota to Denver. I only two one picture on day 9 as we were entering Colorado. Day 10 was spent on the Rocky Mountaineer train traveling to Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
2023 Pajama Party
On Christmas Eve Rachel and James hosted a "Pajama Party." In attendance were Rachel, James, Rachel's aunt and uncle Dianna and Bob, Rachel's sister Taylor, Taylor's boyfriend Jason, Taylor's kids, Rahcell's niece Jadon, Jadon's boyfriend Pablo, Mandy and me.

Easter 2023
On Easter Sunday (April 9th) the family gathered for Easter dinner at our house.
Chris' 16th Birthday
Chris turned 16 on May 23rd. We celebrated his birthday on Memorial Day (May 29th.)
Family Game Night
After visiting the cemetery on July 1st we went to Jim's house for a "game night." We ended up spending most of the time in the back yard.
Mattie's 6th Birthday Party
On August 12th we had Mattie's 6th birthday party for the family.
2023 Vacation Day 2
On Day two of our tour we left Salt Lake City for Jackson, Wyoming.
2023 Vacation Day 4
On the fourth day we toured Yellowstone National Park. Note: I wasn't able to get geo tags on all the pictures, so I couldn't identify the exact location.
2023 Vacation Day 6
On day 6 we traveled from The Ranch at U-Cross to the Black Hills. We made a stop at Devils Tower before arriving at Spearfish Canyon.
2023 Vacation Day 8
On day 8 after our second night at Custer State Park we visited Badlands National Park and Crazy Horse. We then travelled to Denver for our celebration dinner. While most of our group ended their trip in Denver, we continued on the Rocky Moutaineer train from Denver to Salt Lake City.
2023 Vacation Day 11
On the 11th day of our vacation we spent our second day on the Rocky Mountaineer. We traveled from Glenwood Springs, Colorado to Moab, Utah. Note: Due to battery issues, I wasn't able to capture geotags on these pictures. So I don't have exact locations for these pictures.
Christmas with Christine
On December 27th we celebrated Christmas with Chirtine and her kids.
